Cave of the Winds

While we were in Colorado at the beginning of July, one of the stops we made was at Cave of the Winds. We took a guided tour through this beautiful cave and something I forgot about was the "must have" touristy photo at the start of our adventure. Well, I finally got my hands on the CD with our photo and here it is:

Cute huh!?! =D Yup, that's all 17 of us that traveled to Colorado this year. As the years fly by, our numbers keep growing!

Jungle Island Day

Today, we ventured off to Jungle Island! This was a first for our family so we were excited to check it out! The day was overly hot so maybe this had something to do with the attraction as a whole but I'm not going to lie and say we were impressed. The exhibits were only half full, the animals were not active and the "shows" were non-existent. It was a bit depressing. The only area that was partially entertaining was the petting zoo. Riley loved how the animals would come up to her looking for food She'd giggle and run away, only to come back for more. So we thought it would be fun to purchase a little animal feed from the machines. The first machine we attempted wouldn't take quarters. We went to the second machine and it was completely gone. We were pretty disappointed. =(
We thought we'd make the best of the day and grab some lunch while we were there but Jungle Island's food prices are out of control! $10.00 for a hamburger!?!?! Are you crazy?!?

So, off to Bayside we went to grab some grub (at more reasonable prices)and boy was it yummy! We bought Riley some new hair bows from one of the vendors at Bayside and a Mickey Cell Phone which is now her new favorite toy!

Even though we were disappointed with Jungle Island, the overall day was fun and it was nice to spend time as a family. Maybe we'll try Jungle Island again in December or January when things cool off a bit.

On a side note, I did want to mention that "Hank-the Crocosaurus" who lived at Jungle Island since 2002, the largest crocodile in the Western Hemisphere in captivity, passed away the same day we were there visiting. =( He was over 2000 lbs and 20 feet long. They say he was 47 years old. We thought he was alive while we visited because there was a constant stream of bubbles coming from his nostrils but we never really saw him move. So sad! RIP Hank!
We did manage to snap a few pictures anda short video while we were there so I'll end the post withthose. Enjoy!

Fun in the Sun!

For her birthday, Riley was given an Elmo Slip 'n Slide by her Auntie Jennifer, Uncle Erik and Cousins Drew and Lincoln. We finally took sometime to bust it out and give it a try and it was a huge hit! Riley loved the water shooting out from all the different places and once she took a minute to really look at what she was playing with, she finally saw Elmo in the middle and in the video you can hear her say "Elmo!". It's the cutest!
Here's a video and some photos from our Fun in the Sun!
P.S. To the Jackson Family-Thank you so much!! Love, Riley!

A few pictures...

This is how Riley gets through a 2+ hour dinner at a very fancy restaurant. Well, duh, of course, you wash your hands in the fancy glasses full of fancy water =)

This is funny, cause the pair I bought for Riley, she won't wear but, she'll wear mine for some reason...

Did you see this burger, Mom!?!?!
I love my Daddy!
