Disney in September

We took a trip to Disney in the middle of September. Just a few days after Kyle's birthday and a few days before Nick's birthday. It was the perfect way to celebrate and it was so fun to have the whole family together to do so!

This is the result you get when you ask a bus boy at the Crystal Palace to take a group family photo...lol!

Riley's 1st (real) Haircut

I have been trimming Riley's bangs for a while now but she has yet to have a real, legitimate, salon haircut. I finally decided it was time after seeing a few photos of her looking a bit too shaggy for my liking. I didn't want her to get a massive amount cut off, just a trim to make her hair even and polished, so off to the salon we went!

With as busy as Riley is on a 24/7 basis, I was worried to see if she'd sit still from start to finish. But, once that smock was draped on her, she froze! It was like a magical smock of some sort because I have no clue how it got her to sit still, but it did! And Mommy was pleasantly surprised! =D

It was in that moment while I was looking at my sweet baby girl that I realized she's my big girl now. I know I've probably said it before but it really hit me just then. She seemed so grown up! First, it's getting her 1st haircut and before you know it, she'll be walking down the aisle with her Daddy. Yes, I know she's only 2 but she got to 2 so quickly that I know 22 will be here in the blink of an eye!
For now, I'm going to share her 1st haircut pictures and enjoy every single second that I possibly can with my little girl!

"All done and look at my prize, Mommy!"

A Roaring Good Time!

Life has been busy! Very busy lately, so we decided some fun was in order! Over the weekend we made the drive up to Lion Country Safari
I think we picked one of the hottest days of this summer to explore an "outdoor" park. It was a scorcher and the animals were more than feeling it too. Each and every one of them were crowded in any bit of shade available. I was super grateful we were in our car with a glorious air conditioner blasting! Riley loved seeing all the animals! She would scream and shout when she'd spot an animal and her excitement level was through the roof! I'd say her favorite animal was the ostrich, surprisingly...for some reason they seemed to be in every section of the driving tour which I thought was odd but it made no difference to me. Out of all the animals, she would spot them the most and by the end of the drive she would be screaming, "OSTRICH, MOMMY!!" Nick and I were laughing so hard-we love how her vocabulary is exploding at this age.

After the drive, we had some lunch from their cafeteria (which was a bit yuck in my book) and then we headed over to the new Splash Safari area. This area, was of course packed, not only because it's new but because of the severe heat we're experiencing right now. I was weary to let "Miss R" join in all the chaos that was occurring but Nick said he'd be her bodyguard so I approved and I'm so glad I did! She had so much fun! Riley L.O.V.E.D. it-every bit of it! She ran the entire Splash area about 50 times in a matter of 30 minutes or so. It broke my heart to take her away from the fun she was having but with a thunderstorm is on the horizon, playtime is over and our little getaway came to an end.

We had a great time, even in the heat and we definitely have to make more time for fun outings like this one!
