Farm Friends

This weekend, we attended a birthday party of one of Riley's friends. It was so amazing! I wish I had taken more photos, but the day was ridiculously hot and the party was during Miss R's nap time, so we stayed for a couple hours but had to call it quits all too soon.
There was a petting zoo that consisted of every barnyard animal you could imagine as well as pony ride for all the kids. It goes without saying the kids had a blast!
Happy 3rd Birthday, Jack!

Baking with my Daughter

A mother's treasure is her daughter. ~Catherine Pulsifer

Tonight, I baked with my daughter for the first time ever. I can't believe I'm even saying that! I can't believe she's old enough to help me bake! She assisted with all of the ingredients and kept saying, "I'm cookin', Mama!" And even though 1/2 a cup of sugar ended up on the stove top and 1/4 cup of flour ended up on the floor and between our toes, we still made memories and that's what it's all about! Plus, the end result was a huge success! Chocolate Chip Banana Bread by Mommy and Riley!

Final product! What I didn't realize was, when Nick took this picture, Riley had already stuck her fingers in the chocolate chips and had gotten the first taste...stinker! : )

Riley's 1st Movie-Toy Story 3!

It seems like we have been waiting years for this movie to come out. Riley has been obsessed with Toy Story 1 & 2 and practically has them both memorized. We couldn't wait for June 18th and the release of the newest addition to the Pixar films! Riley was so excited this morning. She knew we were going to the movies to see Buzz, Woody and Jessie and she couldn't wait! We made it into the theater and got ourselves situations. She was an angel! Well, for the first 1/2 of the movie she was. Once we got to the second 1/2, she was all over the place! Running to the front, the back, in and out of the aisles, jumping, yelling at the movie out of excitement and the best part, eating candy and popcorn off of the movie theater floor. Honestly, I thought she would have done a little better but, then again, she's only 2 so I think I've learned my lesson with Riley and the movies. Thank goodness the theater was filled with other moms and dads doing the same thing with their little ones or I would have felt pretty bad that we were ruining the movie! I would say it's a safe bet she'll be 3 before we venture off to the movie theater again-lol!

2 Year Stats

Today, Riley had her 2 Year Check up. She's growing so fast and I've got the stats to prove it!
At 2 years old Riley is:
27 lbs. which is the 55th percentile
35 in. which is the 80th percentile
Now they say that if you take you child's height at age 2 and double it, that will be their adult height. So if this is true, Riley will be a tall beauty, towering at 5'10! I wonder if she'll play volleyball and basketball like her Mommy did? =)
Her doctor says she is growing beautifully. Mommy thinks so too!

Bubbles are a Girl's Best Friend!

Well, at least when you're 2 years old they are =)
I hit up the dollar spot at Target today and bought a giant bubble wand and a huge bottle of bubbles, each only $1.00! The best $2.00 I've ever spent!

Two Years of Joy!

The lovely Dawn of http://www.yaporiginals.com/ came by Butterfly World one morning to capture our little beauty in all of her "2 Year" glory! I can't believe I have a 2 year old and I'm blown away with how fast time is going. There are moments in her life I wish I could pause and just hold onto my baby girl foreve. Thank you, Dawn, for allowing me those freeze those moments and treasure them forever through your beautiful photos!
