Our daughter is 9 Months!

To me, this was a big month. It's not her 1/2 birthday mark and it's not her 1st birthday either but it's her 9 month birthday. This means she has been in this world as long as she baked in my belly. It's just so surreal to think this much time has passed. We are lucky because she has so many friends and family that love her so much. Riley is healthy, active, funny, curious and always playful. Riley is perfect and she just becomes more amazing with each passing day.

-She is now waving "hi" and "bye"
-Sometimes (it seems like) she says "hey", "hi", "bye"
-She also says "woof, woof" (thanks to Nana!)
-And of course she says "Dada", "Mama", "Baba" and "Baby"
-She loves to stack her rings, put coins in her piggy bank, throw balls in her bucket or to the dogs and she enjoys clapping while spinning around in a circle while she's sitting (hopefully I'll get video soon!)
-Riley still only has two teeth which she got around 5 months so I'm pretty sure more are right around the corner since she has a puddle of drool coming out of her mouth all the time.
-Her crawling is now at lightning speed so watch out or she'll plow you over and she is doing a bit of cruising, not a ton, but a little here and there.
-And Riley loves ALL foods! She is a crazy good eater and I'm so lucky for that!!!

Happy 9 Months, Miss Riley Joy!

Miss Diva with a capital "D"! "Are these MY sunglasses?"

"You know what I want to do, Mom! Just let me get on with it already!!"

As you can see, Riley is SOOO over it!! LOL!

Busy, Busy, Busy Times!

You know when you're so busy it makes your head spin? That's how life has been in the Rutherford household for the past few weeks. Our apartment lease is up on November 30th and we are moving into our first house! We are so excited! Nick and I work at our jobs during the day and go straight to the house after work to get busy painting, cleaning, carpeting, etc. We have been so lucky to have the help of our families-they have helped by cleaning, painting, babysitting, picking up dinners and the list just goes on! We wouldn't be able to do all of this without their help. House pictures are soon to follow (hopefully!)So, with that being said, now you can see why I haven't been on here to update Riley's blog at all. I know, bad Mommy, but hey, at least I'm jumping on right now to update everyone on Riley's World (and her Mommy and Daddy's too!)

Riley:
-Has two teeth
-Sits up
-Is trying to crawl
-Says Mama, Dada, Baba, Gaga (babble talk)
-Gives Mariah Carey a run for her money with her high notes!
-Plays the piano
-Is eating stage 2 baby foods
-Is growing some serious hair on her little head
-Is already 6 MONTHS!!!!-Can you believe it??!!!?!?
I could go on and on but it's late so I'll end with a few pictures from the past few weeks.
Enjoy!!!

Toe Sucking and Reckless Driving

Today Riley found that her toes can actually be teething devices. Ah yes, yummy toes! She discovered her feet over a month ago so I assumed the foot would be in the mouth shortly after. Well, after all this time of grabbing her feet and playing with them she finally got one into her mouth and that just rocked her world!

Nana (my Mom) decided (and I agreed) that it was time to invest in a walker for Riley. Riley has always loved to be on her feet-it never fails to bring a big smile to her face. So off to Toys 'R Us we went and we picked out something very simple so she could try it out. It turns out Riley LOVES her new walker. She plays in it every time she goes to Nana and Grandpa's house and she can't get enough of it. Well, today she got bold and decided to display her "wild-woman" side and take her "new wheels" off roadin'. Needless to say she got a bit stuck once she hit the step. I hope this isn't a sign of what's to come once she gets her driver's license...

Oh dear.....

And as I wait for AAA to come and rescue me from my predicament, I will relax and chew on this lovely burp rag.
