Back from the Doctor's..

We just got back from Riley's 4 month, 1.5 week check up. Riley got a total of 4 shots. 1 orally, 2 in her right leg and 1 in her left leg. Poor baby-it makes me so sad to see her cry when she is in pain, but I know getting those shots are going to protect her health in the long run.
Her latests stats are:
Weight=14 lbs. 2.5 oz. Which is in the 75th percentile for her age. Her weight is that of a 6 month old.
Height=26 inches. Which is in the 95th percentile for her age. Her height is that of a 7 month old.

My baby is getting big!!

Yay! We survived the shots!

Happy 28th Birthday, Daddy!!!

On Friday, September 26th, 2008, Nick turned the big 28! This was Nick's first birthday as a Daddy and overall I think it turned out well! On Friday, Riley and I took him to the mall where he got to pick out his first pair of Oakley sunglasses. He has been asking for a pair of Oakleys for about a year now so I was happy we could actually make his wish come true. After the mall we had reservations at P.F. Changs, one of Nick's favorite restaurants. The food was yummy and all three of us had a great time. Riley decided she wanted to sing like Mariah Carey during dinner and boy was it amazing-lol! I'm just glad P.F. Changs is a fairly loud place to begin with or we would've been getting some pretty dirty looks! Unfortunately, I forgot the camera so we don't have any pictures from Friday =(

On Sunday, we celebrated Nick's birthday with my family. We went to church and then celebrated at Olive Garden.

Happy Birthday to you!

Make a wish...

This was taken about 3 minutes before Riley passed out for nap time so as you can see she was a bit out of it.

I <3 Rice Cereal!

Over the past few weeks, we have started Riley on rice cereal-and boy does she love it! However, we do have problems getting it into her mouth-lol! Her hands are ALWAYS moving. She is such an active baby, and as much as we love that, it does turn some of our regular tasks into a messy ordeal. I've got to give her credit though, she is getting a little better at relaxing and eating her rice cereal rather than grabbing the spoonful of it and then proceed to run her hands in her hair and down her face, all within a matter of a second. Gotta love that messy little smile!

Happy 4 Month Birthday, Riley!

Today Riley is 4 months old. It seems like she is growing so quickly. Riley has so much personality and we learn new things about her every day! She is simply amazing and we love her so much!

Happy 4 month birthday, daughter!

Toe Sucking and Reckless Driving

Today Riley found that her toes can actually be teething devices. Ah yes, yummy toes! She discovered her feet over a month ago so I assumed the foot would be in the mouth shortly after. Well, after all this time of grabbing her feet and playing with them she finally got one into her mouth and that just rocked her world!

Nana (my Mom) decided (and I agreed) that it was time to invest in a walker for Riley. Riley has always loved to be on her feet-it never fails to bring a big smile to her face. So off to Toys 'R Us we went and we picked out something very simple so she could try it out. It turns out Riley LOVES her new walker. She plays in it every time she goes to Nana and Grandpa's house and she can't get enough of it. Well, today she got bold and decided to display her "wild-woman" side and take her "new wheels" off roadin'. Needless to say she got a bit stuck once she hit the step. I hope this isn't a sign of what's to come once she gets her driver's license...

Oh dear.....

And as I wait for AAA to come and rescue me from my predicament, I will relax and chew on this lovely burp rag.

Hello Blog World!

The day Riley was born. Tuesday, May 20th, 2008.
Well, I have finally jumped on the bandwagon of blogging. I originally wanted to get a blog up and running around the time of Riley's birth, but clearly that didn't happen. Better late than never, right?

As much as I love to scrapbook, fill photo albums and email pictures of Riley's newest "talents" to family and friends, I feel as if I just can't keep up with it all. Hopefully, I can commit a few moments each day/week to her blog to keep everyone updated on what's going on in Riley Joy's World.

The first of many posts to come..(hopefully).
